INTRODUCTION

As a Ph.D. student of Landscape Archaeology at the University of East Anglia and living in Sutton, I have always been interested in the history of Happing and have carried various studies within its boundary. I now feel that not all my research should be buried in files, but should be shared and I have therefore decided publish this web site accordingly. Due to space & time restrictions, I have only included a fraction of what I know about Happing but hopefully the following gives an overall and general history of the Hundred up to the late 1800s. Providing that I can spare the time, I would be happy to try and answer any questions (except genealogical ones) relating to Happing and if anyone spots a mistake or wishes to comment about any aspect of this history I would be interested to hear from them. Finally, if anyone considers that I have infringed upon copyright then please accept my apologies, let me know and I will remove the item in question. My name is Bill Wilcox and my E-Mail address is: BillWilcox@Wilcox53.Freeserve.co.uk
