Description of the Parish

The Parish of Brumstead is situated immediately north of the small town of Stalham in north east Norfolk, England. To the east is the Parish of Ingham, the Parish of East Ruston lies to the north west and due north is Happisburgh Common and Witton. The Parish covers an area of approximately 790 acres and it is relatively flat, ranging in height from 1.0 m along the boundary stream to 10.0 m above sea level in the middle of the parish. Brumstead consists predominately of arable farmland mainly owned and farmed by one family and it has a current population of between 50 to 60. The fields are large and open with few hedges between them and in the middle of the Parish on the higher ground stand the surviving manorial Hall and Church.
